Safe Tech Opens Fabrication Laboratory in College Station, Texas

College Station, Texas – October 22, 2019

Make Safe Tech Inc.’s (Safe Tech) makers’ space and fabrication lab serving the public safety and defense sector, began operations at their new facility in College Station, Texas this week. Founded by Caleb Holt, formerly the Center Manager of Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s Product Development Center, the SAFE TECH FAB LAB, will be the focal point for product development and business services for defense and public safety technology ventures. “We’ve opened our first facility here in College Station to take advantage of the vast resources of The Texas A&M University System and other research and testing facilities located in the Brazos Valley,’ says Holt. “Many start-ups run out of money or can’t find the proper facilities and services when they reach this point. We’re here to bridge that gap and at the same time bring new companies and jobs to the Brazos Valley.”

Matt Prochaska, president and CEO of Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation, says the FAB LAB’s opening is confirmation that the Brazos Valley remains attractive to new business and development. “Caleb is well known nationally in the first responder, product development and start-up communities. I expect we’ll see many viable and beneficial companies emerge from the facility.”

The FAB LAB, located behind the Guitar Center at 1003 Harvey Rd. in College Station, features Additive at Scale, an electronics and communications laboratory, woodworking and metal fabrication as well as a virtual reality station, offices and conference rooms. The first client, Forever Safe Shelters, began operations at the lab in early October.
