General Summary:
The web specialist is responsible for planning, creation and maintenance of hosting platforms and websites for Axle Box Innovations and it’s clients. This is an end-to-end position requiring practical working knowledge of domain registration, DNS settings, hosting platforms, planning and designing for multiple websites as well as budgeting and metrics for those assets. The web specialist will cross-train with our IT specialists to develop a working knowledge of storage and email platforms and administration. Additionally, the web specialist is responsible for the training and onboarding of all clients on WordPress and any other technologies used to develop the website. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Creative, Jordan Kuecker.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least one year of web design experience as primary focus
  • Successful completion of basic WordPress skill test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in web design or closely related field from an accredited college or university
  • Three years prior experience in website design and administration

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work remote as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong Search Engine Optimization skills
  • Basic audio and video editing skills
  • Knowledgeable in multimedia programming and technology
  • Experience with databases, webpage scripting, programming and digital optimization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress or similar CMS
  • Experience with E-Commerce platforms such as WooCommerce
  • Strong working knowledge of basic web design and WordPress development
  • Strong working knowledge of Javascript, PHP, HTML, CSS
  • Ability to independently diagnose and solve code problems
  • An eye for best UI/UX practices
  • Familiarity with security best practices
  • Experience in web hosting and administration
  • Training/Onboarding experience is a plus

  • Standard office equipment: computer, keyboard, multifunctional printer, telephone

Notifications:

  • This position allows off-site work
  • This position will require the completion of a Non-Disclosure Agreement between the employee and company

Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages:

  • Participate in the design, implementation and management of several web sites
  • Solve CSS and code problems
  • Lead the design and development of client websites
  • Provide onboarding and training to clients on their new website
  • Participate in the administration of web hosting platforms
  • Base design layouts on metrics such as Google Analytics
  • Collaborate with our creative team on web branding
  • Establish and implement SEO procedures for all websites
  • Provide support services for internal and external clients
  • Establish a process to spin-off client websites and support
  • Cross-train with IT specialist to develop a working knowledge of storage/email platforms and administration
  • Train and mentor Student Web Specialists
  • Attend marketing staff meetings and work as part of our team to help Make Safe Tech
  • Other duties as assigned
